Helene Schmied of Schmied Enterprises giving our Market an international flair!

Born and educated in Kapfenberg, central Austria, Helene was one of nine children and had plenty of opportunity to hone her cooking skills while helping her mother in the kitchen preparing traditional meals. When she started her own family, she learned even more. “Living on a small farm was a lovely environment to raise my three children. We cared for our own farm animals and learned to grow vegetables. Having lived in Eden Valley for 10 years, those skills have been very handy in our fruit and vegetable garden as well as caring for our hobby horses.

The Schmied Enterprises stall will feature fresh vegetables, citrus, and traditional Austrian biscuits and other goodies. “The Farmers Market is a great opportunity to showcase and sell our goods with pride,” she says.
