A family business based in Wallaroo, Zimmermann Fisheries is made up by father David, mother Jeanette along with son Ray and his young family.
David and Ray and have been fishing since 1993. The fish that they catch are out of the Spencer Gulf and off the Continental Shelf. The boys have a total of four boats and during winter they fish two to three days a week, and then during summer it’s a seven-day working week.
When the boys are not fishing, they also process all the fish caught, which includes their smoked fish. The factory is based in Wallaroo, which is a two- and half-hour drive to Mount Pleasant.
Look out for the Zimmermann’s they are at the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market usually every six weeks.
